Are you being serious right now? We're talking about thousands of users on this site. You should not be shocked at all that a lot of them know someone who died of covid.

Welll...
Louisiana has had 34k cases and Around 2500 deaths in a stat of 4.7 millions.
That’s about 7/1000 and it’s more concentrated in New Orleans, the most populated metro area in the state.

Two of the people I knew who had it and survived lived in Tennessee. The one who died lived in New York. Believe it or not, many people who live in the south actually know people who live in other regions.
