He gets paid to weld. Pipe fitters get paid to fit pipe.

First of that was solid advice by 69. Structural welders are a dime a dozen so if she washes out on pipe her chance for success really gets limited. Some people have it some don't. That's what I love about apprenticeship programs. They are tought all facets of their respected trades. Take pipe fitting for example, they are taught hvac, instrumentation, plumbing, welding, fitting, rigging just to name a few. And from that teaching they can make a choice as to what they want to do.

I can confirm this. I was part of Local 119 apprenticeship program for 5 years. Learned plumbing, pipe fitting and turned out as a HVAC Mechanic. Best decision I ever made.

I took woodworking and drafting. Got a drafting job that helped me get through college.

I have worked out of 119 some fine people there. Did y'all get your new hall built? I saw drawings for it and school looked like it was going to be state of the art
