Club Membership (BR) Help

I know we've had this thread on here not long ago but a search here and on google yielded very little so here we are.
Looking for a membership in the BR area. I'm 27 and can't afford the two CC's - to top it off the members I do know in the CC's are in my ex gf's family so those are both a hard no.
I've been looking at BREC, Greystone, and UClub. I'd have already purchased the BREC pass if it wasn't for practice facilities. Everytime I go to SM it's totally packed on the short game areas and chipping/putting greens, and I'm also not too fond of the mats there.
I know that UClub's practice facilities are great but have heard it's tough to get a tee time, and of course the course is tough (though last time I played there I shot my best 9-hole score of my life at the time )
I don't know much about Greystone, I've played there once and thought it was a fun course, but haven't reached out for any membership info yet.
I'll probably practice 2-3 times a week and play 1-2 rounds a week. Any advice/suggestions?

I just posted the Bluff's information.

Yeah unfortunately it's a solid 50 min drive from me. Played it a couple times recently and had fun but not feasible for me to go out there a few times a week.

What area do you live in?

Too expensive for the product.
Pelican Point is doing a junior deal for $159/mo right now.

Mid-City ish. Pretty equidistant from UClub, SM and Greystone. Webb is closest to me but nothing in terms of practice facility.
Without traffic, UClub is 22 min, SM is 19 min, and Greystone is 20 min from my house.

If it's in your budget UClub is going to be your best option.

I might even be able to swing a regional membership there. Address on my drivers license isn't updated and it's outside the surrounding parishes - but I might need to update that soon

Just don’t plan on it being easy to get a tee time and the course will be closed for charity tournaments seemingly every weekday

That was another concern of mine. Do they close down practice facilities for tournaments too?

Will always be a problem for them. It is a longer drive than you think.

I think you should get over the fact that your ex GF has family members and become a BRCC member if you can. It’s like $200-$250/month with no initiation fee until you turn 30.
But I guess the hardest part will be finding existing members to sponsor you and write your recs.

This is what I'm saying. I would have to contact my ex GF's family members to sponsor and write recs

UC is a $3500 one time payment or $4000 over 2 years or reach 35 first for the initiation fee. The gym, tennis courts and pool are like an extra $50 a month outside of golf dues. Golf dues for a junior membership are not a bad deal st all. Great practice facilities and a very tough course. Takes many times to know where to leave the ball and not a course to have a lapse in thinking. You can call up to a week in advance to make tee times and no singles or 2somes allowed on weekend before 11:30.

Should be a rule everywhere.

If you play a lot during the summer, you won’t have to worry about packed practice facilities at SM, place goes deserted in the heat. Mostly fair weather golfers that play there.

Yeah I think I’m going to go there for the next couple of weeks and see if it dies down any. If not I’ll go to UClub.

The three you listed are a perfect sliding scale.
BREC is the cheapest but it's damn near impossible to get the CC experience or find a good game.
Greystone is a little more expensive, still have some public play, but not a ton. Definitely have the CC vibe with the various games you can get in.
UClub is the most expensive and probably has the most to offer. No random public play They also have a ton of members, which impacts tee time availability, but finding a game isn't to hard I wouldn't imagine.
How's your game? Are you looking for fun or to get better? Single, kids?
Pelican isn't on your list. It's further than SM by a few minutes, but it has a great atmosphere.

Thanks for the info
I'm a bogey golfer looking to get better. Single, no kids.
I guess my worry with Pelican would be traffic. If they are really doing a $159/month special that would be a steal. The issue would be the commute there say on a Wednesday after work (i work near downtown BR), so with I10 traffic the whole way it could take an hour.
I'll reach out to them for membership info. I guess at some point I'm just going to have to live with the fact that every one of these will have it's drawbacks and just go with one.
