But they took guns to confront him. That’s not going to help them.
You can’t get your guns to effect a citizens arrest and then feign surprise when using them.
All of the warning signs were there for them. They blazed right through them and I hope they learn a lesson through it.

Literally two weeks ago, I heard noises in what sounded like my driveway. I'd left my car outside the garage and, we've had car break ins in my neighborhood.
I walked out with my handgun.
This is entirely normal behavior. Turned out. No issues with my car.

Now. Sure. Their case is different. But, if you're dealing with a possible criminal, having self defense mechanisms is pretty normal.
