Everson Griffin or Clowney?

I’d take Griffin due to cheaper costs for a proven pass rusher and some cap still left for a WR. Wouldn’t be mad if we got Clowney though

If clowney is even an option cap-wise ; you take that risk.
He can be a game changer when healthy.
And if (big if) saints have a healthy cam, Davenport , rankins , and clowney going into the playoffs they would have a great chance at winning it all.

Cameron Wake and Brandon Carr/Tramon Williams/Eli Apple

I'd like to have Apple back. He's young and played ok at times. At the very least he's familiar with the defense and knows what they are going to ask of him. Even if it's just a one year deal, he can win his ring and then go chase the money. I'd like to have one more cover guy.

If he comes back... 3D chess. He tested the market this year, it’ll still be there next year for him to test again then.

Apple played great up until that injury where it looked like he destroyed his knee. I’d take him back with the quickness.

We still need some outside CB depth. I’d prefer shoring that up but if we could do that and nail down Griffen that would be awesome

I’d love to get either one. In an all in final year with Drew though, getting Clowney for a year would be incredible. He’s the best player on the field when he’s at his best

So we just saved 7.5 mil from Warford. Clowney is demanding 15-20 mil for a one year. Can someone explain how we actually have a shot to sign him? Something like a Demario Davis restructure would have to happen first also, right?

Why not both?
Kidding, can’t afford both, but I’d be happy with either honestly.

If no one has paid him this at this point, no one will.

with our chance to get back om the playoffs, we should be the team everyone takes one year discount to get to the super bowl.
there are a few good corners and OL still out there for depth.

If they were going to sign someone I’d want it to be Everton Griffen or Tramon Williams. There’s rumors Clowney is trying to get a deal with as much guaranteed money and then basically just coast through trying not to get hurt to collect the guaranteed part of the money. I’ve never felt like he loved football very much and it’s a shame because he’s a generational talent.

People thinking the Saints should sign Griffen think he played all last season like he played the playoff game vs the Saints. That was pretty much the only game he showed up for all season. He's done, folks. Zimmer is not going to cut a good pass rusher.

Send Clowney a take it or leave it type of deal.
If he is low on options, which he seems to be, he may bite on a lowball offer to be on a contender.

That mental break incident Griffen had in 2018 probably isn't helping.

Griffen. I wonder if money isn't an issue to Gayle
