futures contracts rolling today, I believe. I suspect hot money will be back in commodities soon.

Down 7.5% on CHK now. This thing traded $74 2 weeks ago. Now it's 52.

Good buying opportunity right now. Nat Gas always sinks in the summer and rises again in the winter. Fundamentals are the same they were two weeks ago, so we'll see these stocks get back up again I would suspect.

Even if natural gas goes down to $9, does that really mean these stocks should be down here?

I've been thinking of adding one of these to the portfolio. What are some positives/negatives of HK vs. CHK and which would you recommend (if you were only buying one)?

These companies are sitting on the exact same reserves they were three weeks ago. It's funny how trading works sometimes. Does anybody think GM is a better company today than they were three days ago? Probably not, but with the small drop in oil GM stock is up 2-3$ per share. Anybody buying Nat Gas stocks has got to be thinking long term, especially since natural gas is going to be the only wide scale likely choice for a bridge fuel until we can develop alternatives. If CHK drops below $50 I'm considering loading up.

We are buying other small companies in the shale i.e. cubic energy(qbik), Mainland (MNLU), Gulf Coast Energy (GCOG) too. Anyone out there buying small stocks tied to Haynesville?

Shale stocks hammered again today - CHK down 8%, HK down 12%. Nat gas is below $10 for the first time in months. I think it's headed to $7.

I doubt it goes to $7 for too long if it does. Gas always gets more expensive in the winter during the drawdown season. This is the time of year when gas is usually cheap.

But cheap relative to what?

I think the senate got cloture on the "anti speculation" bill this morning.
