I have a ~1000sqft garden and ain't nobody living off this shite, I can tell you that much.

Yea, I think you need an acre of garden, rotating seasonal crops all year long to feed a family of 5-6 people. Then you need land for livestock, a water source, fishing, wildlife habitat etc. 10 acres minimum I think.
I have 25 acres with all the above and think I could make it if I had to
