Me and my fiance kayak fished Saturday and Sunday. Saturday started decent had like 10 topwater bites and 2 trout in the first 30 minutes, then it went dead all day everywhere I fished. Sunday was dead until about 2:30 wen ended up catching 3 slot reds and like 10 catfish on live cockahoes, couldn't get a bite on artificial. Was a tough two day for almost everyone I talked to. Water had like 2 feet of visibility.

People that are doing well out of PAC are heading towards the coast. Trout are thick that way.

The trout have moved out of the marsh and into their summer pattern. That doesn’t mean you won’t catch a few stragglers on the inside. You are gonna have to target redfish until late October or so before the trout make it back.

1.5 hours paddling or pedaling is to the outer lakes on my 2 times venturing that far. Might as well drive to GI and launch backside

I worded that wrong. He caught 50 in 1.5 hours. He has been 5 times in the past week and is murdering them.

tide most likely stopped on you, when that happens fish can and often do just shut down and stop eating.

i have seen fish all over at times and they ignore baits right in front of them. in times like that using market shrimp or live bait can be they only thing they will eat

Hell we couldn't even get to Eddie's on Saturday. The traffic was backed up.

Miss the days when I used to go down there before it got popular. Eddie is such good people though so I try to throw him some business when I can

It was the boaters more than anything. Plus a camp was on fire.

I bought 40 live cockahoes and it took 2 days to use them all. Mostly catfish and dieing from trolling too long. The tide was really calm, and alot of other people were complaining about the tide. It was my first time there so I didn't know what a normal/strong tide looked like there.

I was planning to go launch a kayak off Island Road on Saturday, I'm not going to make it down there until midmorning. How packed can I expect it to be and do you think I'll have trouble with traffic getting there?

You’ll be fine, yes there’s a shite ton of people out there fishing but if you launch off Island road and plan on fishing that back marsh area which is very shallow you’re only gonna see a couple yaks back there anyway
I did well in that area last Sun water was clean and played catch n release with some nice reds
Good luck
