So you are looking at key west and there is very little beach besides the sand that was brought in for the public beach on Key West

Do your research, there's far better keys than Key West

Be sure and eat at the Garden Of Eden. Don’t forget to visit the rooftop bar. You will love it.

Dove several of the Keys in the mid 80s. Great times. Visit Key West for the sunset.

Visit Ernest Hemingway’s house.

All I know is I went hauling arse down the beach to the water and where the waves crash is the end of the sand!! It turns into limestone rocks at the shoreline! You literally have to float yourself out to deeper water because you can’t walk on the rocks.

facebook has several key west groups on it where you can learn about it. Going in october for the first time, flying into key west airport. If i do another trip I will fly into fort lauderdale and drive to key west. I would suggest staying at different keys to get full experience.

Spend an afternoon sitting in an outdoor bar on Duval St.
just people watching. You won't be disappointed.

Take the ferry over to the Dry Tortugas. Interesting fort to explore, good beaches, the snorkeling is pretty good too and the equipment is supplied.
