Now I'm not saying Winston is gonna be fricking Brees, but Payton helped Teddy lead us to wins. Hell he made Luke McCown look good. I think we can turn Winston into a version of what the Titans got with Tannehill last year, which is a top 15 QB. I'd say wait and see what Payton can do with him before we write this off as just a one year thing.

I think he's garbage right now but he's got some talent. But he's still a turnover machine. That’s his knock. He makes terrible decisions. He’s also been on some pretty bad teams with even shittier defenses. All the turnovers could be because he's constantly throwing it and they're constantly behind in addition to the high turnovers. I think he could turn into a slightly better version of Tannehill from last year, which ain't bad for a guy after Brees.
Payton would have to shift to a more run oriented offense. Limit Winston’s pass attempts and stay on him about smart decisions. A year under Brees and Payton might do this guy some good
