Golf carts don't have kill switches in the seats now, do they?
No kill switch under the seat.
No kill switch under the seat.

If it clicks and nothing it’s the solenoid. Check wires from the battery to the controller. Good luck

I'll ask my assistant how he fixes his when it goes down.

FILs cart was doing the same thing and I believe it was his controller that was overheating.

That happened to me at a golf course in Oklahoma several months ago. I drove the cart in an area designated "No Carts" and the GPS shut it down.

It's all ball-bearings these days.

Have you tried turning it off then back on again

My first though is either solenoid or controller.

If your cart has a “Tow” switch make sure that did not get engaged over a bad bump or something.

You shouldn’t have driven the cart off the course.

Do you hear a click when the accelerator is pressed?

Been there. I've got a rxv for hunting. The brakes locked up one evening coming down a mountainside. No telling how much time i sat there trying to figure out how i was going to get it home before i realized it had a tow switch

The flux capacitor is also working
That's powered by the reactor.
The engine runs on gas.
Rookie mistake.

Is it an ezgo? If so, it could be the relay in the charger plug called the Reed switch. The relay tells the controller to shut off if a battery charger is plugged in. There are 3 wires to the charger plug on the cart, battery pos and neg are thick wires, relay wire is smaller. You can bypass the relay by opening the cover on the plug box and jumping the wires on both sides of the relay. Youtube has a few videos showing exactly what to do. Good luck
