It'll get extra weird when somehow the NCAA grants the Jordan twins and Chris Reid an extra year.

On the flip side, is there any word on potential transfers to LSU?

Yes. I'm guessing the staff is getting word on how the MLB Draft will work, what current players will likely return, and what recruits may be coming in now that we didn't expect, as well as if the NCAA will stick to the 35 man rosters (plus this year's seniors).

There are going to have to be quite a few others, as well as possibly some lost recruits, to make these numbers work. Hopefully somebody can convince Braden Doughty to bow out, with no hurt feelings. He is a pretty obvious cut option, that is just taking up a much needed spot. That might ruffle some feathers with Cade though.

There is only one D1 transfer that we're currently looking at that I know of. Mason Auer from Missouri State.

There are only a handful that would be worth looking at anyway.

ETA: The only other position player that would be worth looking at for sure is Drew Benefield from Louisville, but he's probably going somewhere in the SEC East.

Auer is a two way player that can play middle infield and throws 95. He's also looking at Crowder College, San Jac, and John A Logan, three JUCOs that put out a ton of draftees and D1 transfers.

These players aren't leaving LSU because there is issues. They are leaving because we have like 50 players with possible returners, and recruits. A player transferring in would mean somebody else on the current roster has to go. Not saying it's not possible, but we aren't going to be looking for transfers to fill any empty spots. If it's a transfer, they will be a big impact player.

We had 35 on the roster this year.

George and Beck can return, and not count towards that 35 number. That puts us at 33.

Walker, Hughes, Bianco transfer, bringing us down to 30.

We have 18 recruits I believe.

That puts us at 48, so 13 more will need to be trimmed.

You may be able to subtract a few after the MLB draft, but probably won't be as many as usual.

MLB knocking the draft down to 5 rounds really fricked a lot of shite up.

Pre Draft, with the three transfers out, and the recently added JUCO LHP walk on, we are at 51. That includes Michael Lagarrigue, who will almost certainly not be on the roster.

If we keep the two seniors, we can be at 37. So we have room for 35 Jr thru Fr.

I think about 5 draft losses are easily expected if the draft goes 5 rounds. If it goes longer, we could lose more, helping out the log jam.

Who is the transfer that was announced today? I think I saw it linked in a thread. Said he was a lefty pitcher, who didn't pitch this year. I had never heard of him, and he wasn't even listed on the roster.

Kendall Burnett was the other LSU guy in the portal, he was only here for this past fall.

Are you including incoming recruits in that number, or just current players?

I thought they were saying the draft would be at least 10 rounds?
