Is my PSU bad, or...

Is my rig just dusty?
It turns on and runs for a few seconds before turning back off.
Ive been staying at gfs since Jan and only dropping by once every few weeks. Started during my last visit while kiddo was doing some distance learning.
does it sound like a PSU issue or could it be the elusive dust bunnies causing a short? I would deacribe it as dusty without cobwebs. My corsair is modular so it wouldn't be too much of a PITA.
If something else, where would I begin troubleshooting?

Not getting any error codes or anything? You should dust your PC anyway to see what happens
Sounds more like a cooling issue if it boots and runs

Nah it never hits boot menu. I think its a short. Next time I go ill try a can of air first I suppose and go from there.
It didn't feel hot at all when it happened.

make sure your CPU heatsink/fan is pressed down

Depends, is an assistant coach?

Make sure your CPU fan is running fine too. If it's dead, the motherboard will usually cut off pretty quick to ensure it isn't damaged. Case fans being dead won't cause that but a CPU fan being dead can.
Any beep codes or anything before it cuts off?

I forgot my can of air here so i used my shop vac to blow everything off.
Still did the same startup shutdown. Run for 1 second, off for 4 seconds.
I unplugged gpu and plugged it back in. Pushed against all the other plugs coming off the PSU and it started right up.
I used it for 2 hours and hit update & shut down. If it starts back up next trip ill put the case back together and chalk it up to one of the wires wiggling free. Maybe one of the kids kicked it.

there's a very high chance it's cpu fan/heatsink related

Bent pins it sounds like. I don’t think it would turn on at all if it was the PSU or motherboard. Wouldn’t hurt to take the cooling fan off, clean the thermal paste off and check your pins.
Just make sure you reapply an appropriate amount of thermal paste before putting the CPU fan back on the CPU. I’ve made that mistake before and that’s how I broke my pins. Was mad at myself for forgetting thermal paste so I was rushing and dropped the CPU on the pins.
But on the bright side, it gave me an excuse for a new build
