You can also have the regular flu or anything else. If you prefer to live in a bubble, then by all means do so. The survival rate of this virus is 98%.

This SI article answers the question of what can be done to potentially save the season ( SI article). There are lots of different scenarios. My best guess is that they'll play the season in the spring semester without fans in the stadium. But I'm just a fan making a guess.

Why does this have to be decided now or even considered now? College football starts in about four and a half months. Imagine the back lash if they decide to cancel college football or postpone it and two months from now Coronavirus is behind us?

Let’s wait till summer to discuss these things.

That’s to low. It likely over a 99% rate. Millions of people haven’t been tested who may have the virus but show little to no symptoms.

Can they play college games if schools are not in session?

And can college players be compelled to play, arguably risking their health or worse, if they're not being paid? Not saying they wouldn't, but a question that needs to be considered. And a big difference from pro sports.

You are probably right as we've only tested over 3 million in the U.S.

I am thinking these decisions will be made AFTER the schools decide whether to be open for classes in 2020-2021. It's a June 1-15 decision, IMO.

You’ve never played if u dont think they wanna play. I’m in highschool football and I’ve never prayed so much. As an athlete losing out of a whole year of football is a crusher.

More than you have little man, but that still doesn’t mean every kid will want to play and risk illness and money. That will be the same thing that holds up pro sports

Well hey Big Man,

No one blinked when H1N1 was killing people left/right/center, or SARS, or MEARS, or that Malaria killed 200,000 people from Jan 1 to March 31 just this year alone! Or, that Covid-19 killed 41,000 around the world in that same time-frame, but our good old buddy (The seasonal Flu) killed 121,000 around the world in that same 90 day period in 2020. Where is the OUTRAGE?

Where is the damned panic for the flu, or SARS, etc, or why don't we save people in Africa and find a cure for Malaria, let's make them a drug that works!!! 244,000 died from Malaria in those 90 days!!! Why did the world not stop?

Why do we let people smoke, or manufacture products that will kill them, as it says on the pack of cigarettes that Smoking kills, yet we watch people smoke all around us? In those same 90 days smoking killed 1,200,000 people. Where is all the panic for those lives as we watched them kill themselves. Companies made the packs for them to kill themselves. Where is the panic???

Should we stop women from having babies? Well, in those 90 days, 77,000 women died from complications giving birth. Let's have some social distancing from men and their wives as we cannot have women get pregnant for a few months, no lets make it a year. Give me frigging break!!!

Why do we let 2.5 million people die of hunger in those same 90 days? Pitiful

266,000 suicides in those same 90 days. I bet that goes up the next 90 days as we just killed the economy and MILLIONS around the world lost their jobs. How will they eat, pay their homes, provide for kids, etc.??

There are plenty more but that is enough to see why kill the economy for this one???? Then now that it is here, it is being political by Pelosi and co. Shame on her and all liberals wanting to hurt American people because they think that is the only way they can win a frigging election.

They want to kick the can down the road and we shall face this thing again and again. Will we shut everything down again? We did not for all the other similar viruses.

At least Corona beer is making commercials now. Wonder if its working, but at least they are working

Don’t even bother. It’s obvious by now that Rona isn’t our Great Mortality but some people will insist on being dramatic and living in fear. It is really inconceivable that healthy young men playing a violent game which routinely causes massive injuries are cowering in fear over this virus which almost exclusively kills the old and fat.

Unless we get a dramatic bounce back from the virus, I don't see classes cancelled in the fall. Our trending is downward and I believe it stays that way.
