Let's say the Saints do the smart thing and trade Kamara. Which RBs in this draft could fill in decently this year and have the potential to be the next Bush/Sproles/Kamara type player Payton seems to easily attain without overpaying.

Sorry if this has been discussed. I haven't visited this board in a while.

I'd say draft CEH, and go out in free agency and get Jeremy Hill; see if Ridley wants to come back too and then grab Fournette after his first contract.

Theo Riddick or Chris Thompson. Both are free agents and should be cheap. Would need to check on Thompson’s health.

Trade Kamara? You mean 3x Pro Bowler, 2nd Team All Pro, ROY, beloved by the fans Alvin Kamara? Payton Loves him some AK41, Alvin Kamara?

Stupid thread. We Should not trade AK. He was playing on 1 leg last year and still had similar production to Dalvin Cook (who was anointed the best back since Emmitt Smith all last year)

When healthy, AK is by far the best back in the league

You should just never sign a RB to a huge contract

I don’t know where you are getting your statistics. The 2019 stats between the two.

Dalvin Cook
Rush 1,135 yds
Rec 519 yds
Total TDs 13

Alvin Kamara
Rush 797 yds
Rec 533 yds
Total TDs 6

Both played the same amount of games: 14

I know one of the games that cook played he got knocked out early. I think in the first quarter.

I’m a saints fan and I do think Kamara is a good back but he is not worth paying 16 million a year. I’m not paying that for a running back. Especially when you are strapped for cap and the rb has injury concerns. Therefore, you either let him walk or try to trade him for more assets.

Haha, Cook had almost 100 more carries and AK caught 81 balls last year. Literally playing at 70%. Higher yards per carry and the fact that Cook gets carries on the 1 yard line is awesome, congrats to him for that.

Unless it's a franchise QB, it's silly to fall in love with with a player. It can cripple a franchise. That's what NE figured out years ago. Saints fans (I'm one) are notorious for love affairs; Ingram, Teddy, AK. Just because they experienced some level of success here doesn't mean they're worth $10+ million a year, especially when we are up against the cap. RB's are a dime a dozen

I dont know if its the right move to keep Kamara or not at a high price. All i know is people said the same thing with Thomas. Sometimes there are exceptions to the rule.

Id much rather have that supporting cast with a new QB coming in next year.
