I’m in dire straits

I’ve posted on here in the past regarding 2 huge issues I’m dealing with. Drainage and torpedo grass. Well, I’ve finally had enough. I have a guy coming out to install fence drains that run from my backyard to my front yard. Then, I’m going to spray several applications of round up on my front lawn to kill everything, hopefully including all torpedo grass. Then, I’m going to have a guy pull up all of my grass and regrade the front. Then I will sod. I’m torn between going back with centipede, or going with st aug or zoysia. What do y’all think?
Sorry for the long post

If you don’t remove all the rhizomes from the torpedo you need to install a grass that you can spray a selective herbicide without killing the grass. You need to install zoysia or bermuda.

not st aug. I had a portion of my grass I dug up and replaced w/ fresh sod when torpedo took it over. I didn't get rid of the torpedo(you never will most likely) but the st aug is healthy and covering up most any torpedo.
if the posters saying zoisa will be better is correct, i'd go that route.

Do you have full sun? If you do I strongly suggest tif 419. That grass will be super green and dense in the first year. You can also treat torpedo grass and dallisgrass fairly easy.

I’d go with Bermuda (aggressive) and paint any torpedo that comes back with glyphosate.
There is a good chance you will always fight it though.
