Was born and raised in the East off of Haynes and Bullard area. Loved growing up there as a child. Had a great street with great neighbors. Parents were in the middle of building a new house in Slidell as Katrina hit, so yes we fit in the crowd of moving to Slidell.

Katrina killed the East

It was already dying, but Katrina killed it. The people that were holding it together didn't return after Katrina

Katrina might have been the bullet to the head, but the east was dying way before Katrina.

The East needs to break away from Nola and incorporate as a separate city.
