There's no way this happens. MLB is going to get a ton of pushback from the panic minded "the whole world is going to die if we step one toe outside" Facebook crowd and they'll cave to pressure. For instance, retweeted by Buster Olney this morning...

Ok now what about the non-millionaire hotel workers, security staff, grounds crews, media members, team traveling staffs, clubhouse attendants, janitorial workers, food service workers, and the billion other people required to make that 3.5 hour game happen every night?

quote:

Y’all asking them to stay at their current salaries but also stay locked inside Baseball Biodome for an indefinite amount of time away from their families during a GD pandemic? This is a reckless and irresponsible kernel of an idea. Shut it down.

quote:

*let me clarify that I really want baseball back. But not if it’s not done safely, not if it requires sacrifices like this from people who make minimum wage, and not if it means redirecting badly needed medical and testing supplies away from the public and to a sports league.

Beyond that, this may "solve" the MLB problem but what about the minor leagues? Nobody can get through a season without a pool of minor leaguers to call up during an injury situation. How do you have those guys ready to play? I think MLB is going to decide the logistics of forcing this to happen are more of a cumbersome pain in the arse than anything resembling baseball season.

Simple. You have attendants for each team. Look at what an attendant normally makes, then bump it. Many would be glad to work.

Janitorial workers? For what? Maybe have 1 guy on standby in case a toilet is clogged.

Food service workers are already employed in many places. You want to create jobs? Hire teams from Subway, Chick Fil A, and some legit cooks. Have them rotate from hotel to hotel. Once again, I bet you can find people and give them enough money to make sure they live in isolation as well. I suppose that doesn’t mean you can trust them.

That’s why they have a 50 man roster. You are essentially combining a major league and triple a team into one. There are minor league fields or ‘back fields’ for each team at their facility. It’s plenty of room for them to train and workout.
