This is the slippery slope.

In Kentucky alone, you have (per CDC) 395,345 adults with asthma. Roughly another 100,000 more that are children. Approximately 531,646 adults in Kentucky have diabetes. As of 2018, Kentucky’s total population is 4.4 million. That’s a very large chunk of “at risk” people. And that’s not including state specific HBP stats.

On average in the US, 32.2% of people have HBP (definition: Have been told by a doctor they have high BP).

Not slippery at all.

I know it will be a high number that will vary by state.

But there is no reason for low risk to be restricted.

Yes, there will be some spread but this is no issue among the healthy population group. Keep the most at risk isolated.

hate to rain on your fear parade, but people under 30 are the most immune to this virus. And those that do catch it, are the most likely to survive it. So that eliminates that group.

then they have a tough decision to make and had better decide they are going to social distance and wash their hands religiously.

the idea that we can get a "handle on this virus" is sophistry. Its a virus. With no vaccine, we cant manage it. And all we can do is manage it with a vaccine. I'm still not sold on the idea of herd immunity as a management tool for this, but I think we are going to see it tested whether we want to or not. We simply cannot continue to confine people to their homes and crush the economy. That will be devastating to all, not just a few- like my own mother who is 82 and has the very health issues that Covid seems to lust for.
