There is legitimate concern that if they open Morganza they won’t be able to get that genie back in the bottle.

shite might be able to be stopped if we open it. Open the morganza isn't as simple as opening and closing a gate.

The Morganza Spillway by law can only be opened when the river hits a set flow rate. The effect of opening it impacts agricultural interests, oil and gas facilities, homes, and cities downstream. I know it impacts fishing interests when Bonne Carrie is opened, but it has less impact than Morganza. This is the reason for the higher trigger flow.
