I haven’t seen much shattered glass on the streets in my neighborhood, so I would say crime is down.

Anyone with half a brain can look at NOLA.com and read the article on the front page about crime being down in the city.

But I guess it’s easier to start a thread and get attention instead.

Not when prior administrations, Landrieu, Nagin, and Morial, along with their appointed Chiefs of the NOPD manipulated the crime data/statistics.

Stating crime is down, all the while requesting plain clothes LSP to help patrol the Quarter.

I'd rather get some info from real citizens that know the truth.

Are you really that dense? I mentioned PAST administrations in reference to not trusting numbers by the new administration. I know the Quarter is shut down. Doesn't mean the criminal element isn't breaking and entering, looting, and stealing from those closed businesses.

Doesn't the Mayor still APPOINT the police chief? The NOLA TP gets its crime news through the NOPD. Arrests, crimes committed, etc. Yeah we all trust the NOPD to be honest, and full of integrity.

I know it may not fit the narrative you’re hoping for, but things seem rather quiet lately amongst my hyper-vigilant neighborhood groups. I’ll let you know if things pick up.
