This could be partly an economic indicator? If they’re low-class workers and there’s no job, could this be an indication of the economic impact of the virus?

In China your cellphone is your tattoo or microchip implant. Real-name registration of phone plans with ID cards had been a requirement in China for years already. Facial recognition scanning is a requirement for new phones. In addition to electronic purchasing, your phone is required to identify you and authorize your movement on public transportation and movement around the town/country, to track your associations, and to confirm that you are obeying government directives. Facial recognition facilitates the identification verification linking, and helps verify coordination of your location with the visual images from their millions of spy cameras located throughout the country.
