Texas company looking to dock paychecks for those receiving stimulus checks

" The agreement would put workers under a “temporary compensation reduction that is in line with the assistance that it receives from the federal government related to the COVID-19 pandemic.” By signing the agreement, the company’s employees would have their paychecks between April 6 and April 20 cut by 100% of any money received under the stimulus bill.
The company would also take half of the $500 stipend allotted for dependents under the bill."

I’d say pretty low. They’re using the stimulus money to the employees to enrich themselves through cost savings. If I worked there I’d be looking elsewhere.

The whole thing is dirty, but how is this part even lawful? You can't just commandeer part of, let alone HALF of a stipend provided by the federal government.

Unnamed company. Should threaten to go public and refuse to sign. Hell, I would demand they match the bonus for being so low. The public relations would be a disaster.

Either report them to the IRS and the local US attorney and claim whistle-blower status, or call their bluff and sue them if they don't back off, which puts their name in the public record.
