re: Dr. Birx speaks about rates of infection and death

Honestly, if Birx and the rest of the team are saying that locking down a country and implementing social distancing measures has no real effect on the number of deaths and number of infections, then why have they been doing it? On the other hand, if it does have an effect, then what is the point of saying that models for what would happen if we do nothing don't seem to match up with what happens in the real world when we take aggressive measures against the virus?

If they are serious about this argument, and they are right, then we should open back up the country tonight, and stop doing any social distancing. If they are full of shite then they can go back to their same argument about how we need to keep doing this until Easter.
