Nobody is a Pro, and if they think they are, they will get their head handed to them. I am not a Pro for sure. But I managed money for Institutions and Retail investors for 38yrs. I will never recommend individual stocks. Too many different individual objectives. But, I will try to help for those that are open to experience. Be positive-be patient-and above all else, avoid Fear and Greed.

Well, there are people like Jim Simons, Stan Druckenmiller and a host of other (smaller) pros who are very successful and consistently profitable, but I'm saying, don't come on here and assume that any of us (anonymous) posters are anywhere near that class. I fully agree with your points here. But because a lot of the people coming on this board over the past few weeks are looking for "hot tips", "fast money" and just want to "get in the game"... I'm making the point that an anonymous message board is just a good way to get your fingers burned, learn horrible lessons and develop bad investing habits.

And worst of all, if these folks make a little money from hot tips now, those (lucky duck) bad lessons will not serve them well going forward.

There's a reason that people like Jim Cramer and his ""game show" approach to investing are so popular, even though a monkey dressed up in human clothes bested him in a stock picking contest: he's entertaining, he's fun, he's got lights, bells and whistles. For those who don't really care to gain knowledge and learn, and are more buy & hope investors, rather than buy & hold, that's good enough.

Hats off to you for wanting to help them.
