If you contract COVID-19 and then transmit it to someone who subsequently dies, should their family be able to sue you into oblivion?

So a bunch of people do this, they reap what they sow and are in the hospital with covid. Hospital is overcrowded and resources are super limited.
A drunk driver slams into me and the nearest ICU with available space and available staff is hours away. What happens?

So old people should take the necessary step of quarantining themselves so you don't have to take the necessary step of quarantining yourself?
It staggers me you don't see how you're demanding something of others so you don't have to do it yourself.
