Because like every teenager to mid twentier, they think their egos are above all others and act accordingly. Since current society teaches them that they suffer no consequences for their actions and that they are free to do whatever they want and still be rewarded, then they are going out there with the frick You Attitude that as been taught to them and reinforced these past few years.
