Good thing NOLA has this thing called the Mississippi River running through it and a port that imports and exports a large amount of goods for the country.

Dam totally forgot about the dome renovations. It would never be ready for football season much less the super bowl.

How many people does that employ?

A port. Doesn't seem like it would be many. Especially with international shipping slowing down

I work for a Fortune 500 company with a Nola office and everyone is being told to work at home this week. I'm pretty sure this is going to be happening for most of us who are typically in CBD offices

I work in a CBD high-rise. While I hope the city doesn't close it off, if it does, it will show the baby boomers I work for that their butts in seats philosophy is totally obsolete. I could easily work from home a couple of days a week or more and be just as productive if not more.

Do you have any idea how many boats work on that river and how many people work on those boats? As well as the long shore man, land based personal, truck drivers, crane operators, etc.

Some of you people are clueless

The port brings in money but it’s no secret it’s been quickly shrinking in the last 5-10 years

It’s not just obsolete, it’s completely idiotic in this scenario no matter which way you look at it.

No matter what other limitations are in place, the thousands of people congregating in the office buildings for several hours and then going back home to mix with their families, every day, will greatly contribute to the spread. I don’t think there can be any question about that. Thus, the other limitations, hardships etc are basically meaningless.

Seems like it should be almost an all or nothing thing.
