re: The Tiger King (Netflix Docuseries)

Watched all but episode 7. I’m digging it so far. I did have a question though.

Did Travis kill himself on purpose? Wife said she read up on it and it was an accident, and that makes sense since he was saying the gun won’t fire “without a clip.” But at the same time they showed him talking about the whole “last cigarette before I die” thing and then he literally puts a loaded gun to his head and pulls the trigger. I assume it was an accident, but was anybody else confused by that?
