Nazi atrocities extended past jews but the global hunt to bring them to justice did not.
The concept of Nazi hunting was a uniquely jewish experience. Spearheaded and led by jews with only peripheral support from non-Jewish groups or people.
The burden of bring Nazi war criminals to justice was a uniquely Jewish experience.
I "keep saying it" because it's true.
Is David Shaw or Rebecca Holt Jewish?? Because this is literally in the news today
Nazi hunted!!!
Oh, and to my point earlier:
quote:
Berger, who is a German citizen, worked at a Neuengamme sub-camp near Meppen, Germany, in 1945, where prisoners included "Jews, Poles, Russians, Danes, Dutch, Latvians, French, Italians and political opponents" of the Nazis.
Look, I’m not even defending the show, I’m still only five eps in and al finding myself less and less compelled to finish it.
I just think this point that you’ve latched on to that there is no way that a multicultural group of killers could have been recruited to hunt actual Nazi officers hiding out in the melting pot of 70s America in a revenge fantasy such as this is just bizarrely silly.
There are plenty of other valid reasons to criticize the show or its creators, as many Jewish groups have done:
LINK
quote:
Auschwitz Memorial, a charity that maintains the former camp as a historical site, accused the programme makers of "inventing a fake game of human chess" in an act of "dangerous foolishness".
Karen Pollack, chief executive of the Holocaust Educational Trust, told the BBC such portrayals risked fuelling Holocaust denial, and lent a tone of "flippant entertainment" to the programme.
"We have a real responsibility to protect the truth of the Holocaust," said Mrs Pollack, "particularly as we're moving away from living history, the survivors are few and frailer."
The fact that the creators included hunters that were not Jewish is not among their issues with the show

He did indeed culturally appropriate and manipulate the jewish war crimes experience for his own social agenda as well as others involved in the production of this show. He wasn't alone in this but he is the face of it. His is the biggest name associated with this and it's all over it.
How many times do we have to tell you he wasn’t the writer of this show? The white Jew with the Holocaust survivor grandma did.
I don't think you know what an executive producer does.
LINK /
Producers, not writers are the control and money people. When writers and directors want movies or shows made, they bend to the will of producers or they don't get made.
Peele's name is the biggest associated with this and it shows.

Well could any organized jewish group get away with criticizing that though? Could they get away with saying "We don't like that blacks and asians were portrayed as nazi hunters, because they had absolutely nothing to do with it?"
How could they get away with that without it being taken waaaay out of context? In today's social climate, that shite doesn't roll.
And as far as your link is concerned, Rebecca Holt is an immigration judge, not a "nazi hunter". And David Shaw is an immigration and customs enforcement officer that works with war crimes of all kinds. He's not a "nazi hunter" in the classic definition either.
In fact, it was a jew (a justice department hunter of nazis) that actually prosecuted him.
Additionally, it was the germans that discovered him after a 1 in a billion chance when they raised a sunken german naval vessel that just happened to have his preserved personal information on it.
So no, "David Shaw and Rebecca Holt" aren't jewish and they had absolutely nothing to do with his identification.

He doesn’t write or create the show, or else he would be listed as such. But feel free to continue your terrible argument. Maybe if Peele decides he wants to culturally appropriate the mentally challenged, he can tap you to write a show for him.

You didn't read the link.
I'll help you.
Executive producers control the money, therefore they control or have immense influence in the creative process. If producers want something written a certain way, it'll be written that way or it won't get made.
They decide who directs, they decide who acts and they decide the tone and tenor of the writing. They have final say so over everything and only the heaviest of hitters don't have to bend to it.
You're fading man.
As "terrible" as it may be, the "argument" is correct.

Just dropping in to say you’re spot on.
I believe it was released this spring to gear up for the election—recall the 2016 primaries when Trump was a Nazi pervaded the media?

Was the German that found it Jewish? If not, add Germans to the list of peoples willing to hunt, or at least turn in, Nazis

Who gave him the assignment to hunt Nazis? Was that person Jewish?

The link was actually kind of tongue in cheek, but it demonstrates the fallacy of your argument. Governments, agencies, and courts all over the world facilitated the hunting, deporting, and prosecution of Nazis.
As for the “classic definition” of Nazi hunters, again, Hunters doesn’t purport to portray that at all.
This is a rogue group intent on vengeance, not on bringing Nazis to justice in the classic sense, funded by a wealthy Holocaust survivor that has hired people that can most effectively carry out the job, not that necessarily feel the same personal stake that he does, although they certainly seem to relish their work.
Again, I’m not sure what is so hard to understand or accept about that

Thanks for the link that won the “argument” for me.

Peele's name is the biggest associated with this and it shows.
Once again, Peele didn't finance the show. He didn't write it. He didn't direct. He helped it get sold.
quote:
You’ve previously said that you created this five years ago, so what was that journey? How did it take all of that time to get to where it is now? Did it evolve that whole time? What was the bigger journey of that first idea, five years ago, to now finally getting to see it?
WEIL: It’s a great question. It was a really epic journey. As you’re watching, you’ll see that this show is scary to buyers. It’s very bold, it’s very violent, it’s very comedic, and it’s very different. There are so many different tones, that I hope it’s unlike anything else out there, but oftentimes buyers really want to play it safe. I brought Hunters to Jordan Peele, as soon as it was done, and he saw something in it that he really responded to and really loved, so he came on as an executive producer. He’s been the most unbelievable partner and champion, and we went on this journey. We sold it, at first, to a different network, before Amazon, and the head of that network left and a new head came in, and they didn’t really understand the show and didn’t really see the show for the vision that I had and that Jordan had for it. We got incredibly fortunate, in our timing, in that Jen Salke had just come in to run Amazon Studios, so my agent sent it to Jen, and it was the first thing that she bought. She’s just been the greatest champion. This is not an easy show. It’s not a safe show. It’s bold and loud and dangerous, and because of those things, it’s meaningful. Jen recognized that and has just been such a champion, from day one, for us and for the show. But it was a very long process, it really was.
You said that you brought the show to Jordan Peele when the script was done, but how exactly did that happen?
WEIL: I was just such a fan of Key and Peele, and I was desperate to meet him. So, we met and just bonded over genre films and horror movies, and the kind of work that he does. He sent me the script for Get Out, and I was like, “This is the greatest thing I’ve ever read.” And so, when I was done with Hunters, I sent it to him, and he came on board. He’s a guy who really wants to champion under-represented stories, and Hunters is one of those. It just became this great partnership.
He also wasn't involved in the casting.
quote:
You’ve assembled such an eclectic cast of really great actors. How did you assemble the team of hunters? Were you wide open, or did you have very specific ideas for what you wanted, when it came to each member of the team?
WEIL: Oh, my goodness, that’s such a great question. Some were, “I know I wanna go to that person,” but many people were discoveries, and such beautiful discoveries. It became this alchemy of conjuring up this cast. There’s so much chemistry that’s needed, and their chemistry really popped. They really did become this ragtag family, on screen and off. Working with our amazing casting director, John Papsidera, and the head of casting at Amazon, Donna Rosenstein, it was really just finding who was right for the role. Some actors surprised us. Some actors, we always had in mind, in some capacity. And some actors we didn’t know, and it was unbelievable to find them. Greg Austin, who plays Travis was one. He just blows it out of the water, in so many ways. And then, there were the more known actors, like Josh Radnor and Carol Kane. It was so exciting. There’s no exact science. It became a lot of luck and a lot of chemistry.

You believe stupid things. "Trump as Nazi" wasn't a thing until Charlottesville, in 2017, 8 months into his presidency.

Trump as Nazi began 5 minutes after he descended those stairs in June 2015 and laid the groundwork for blaming brown people from Mexico and Central America for the “plight of the poor working class white man”.

They’re bringing drugs. They’re bringing crime. They’re rapists
It’s coming from more than Mexico. It’s coming from all over South and Latin America,
Trump’s struggle.
He only reaffirmed it after Charlottesville.
