I hate to say it but I do think uncle Al time has come, but who are logical replacements? And if we make the playoffs is he safe?

I think if we make the playoffs it definitely complicates the decision-making process the front office goes through on Gentry and players.

So it’s worth keeping in mind whichever way you fall on us making the post season.

If we miss it you can guarantee Griffin takes the most sober and the more maximalist approach to changing personnel than had we made the playoffs.

Yes, we made the mistake of letting Monty go after making the playoffs and getting swept by one of the best teams of all time

Different regime, different owner.

And I didn’t say it’s impossible but it almost certainly fogs up the decision-making process more than it would if we end up the 9th or 10th seed and have all these pockets of what-ifs and disappointments staring at Griffin, who never hired this guy to begin with.

Honest question, why?

Nothing he has done tells me he is much more than a marginal improvement at best. Phoenix started hot but has regressed a lot and Monty has never proven himself to be a very forward thinking coach. He gets guys to play for him, might add a few new wrinkles if the guy before was a real dud, but that is about it.

If I’m ranking all the coaches I don’t think Monty is far off from where Gentry sits.

I wanted to keep Monty, but I can see the arguments that you would have wanted him fired. But still, firing Monty to hire Gentry? Completely boneheaded decision. The fact that we still have him as coach after 5 years of the fans wanting him gone is unfathomable

Becky Hammon,

What has she done to garner a look to be head coach of the best young core in the NBA? Her accolades are being on Pop’s staff and being a woman.

This team needs a veteran coach to balance out the inexperience of the roster. Again 4 players on this team have playoff experience, and 2 can be gone by next year.

My choice would be David Joerger

Coached the Grizz when they had their grit and grind years and were in the playoffs. Coached the kings last year and led them to a 39-43 record which would likely make the playoffs this season

I’m honestly kind of new to being a big fan of the NBA, so I don’t know much about him. But He doesn’t sound half bad.

This is the right answer for this roster! Dave Joerger would be a homerun hire!

Would he be?

I mean he’s fine, possibly a slight improvement, but nothing about him screams “elite coach.”
