with some actual basketball analysis?

This.

The language about how the Pels "blew" this game or it was an "inexcusable" loss is over the top and betrays the lack of any real insight other than "loss = mad."

And there are always several threads after any loss like that. The expectation for some is the Pels should never lose.

Did the Pels play their absolute best game? No. The 3pt shooting just wasn't there tonight and the defense was too leaky. Did they play poorly? No. They played hard and pretty well, just not well enough. It's a young team and it shows in key moments vs the best teams.

Always going to be emotional v Lakers, but they are very good.

this board benefits from sharing a room with LSU and the saints and also suffers from sharing a room with LSU and the saints

The Lakers are a great team but in the NBA over an 82 game season a coach who only wins the "expected" wins is worth a warm bucket of spit. Why bother paying $4 million if you are not going to ever to get your team to reach and stay in a game you are not expected to win? Just find some high school coach and pay him minimum wage. Gentry has evidently been a good guy to have on the bench as an assistant and that does not automatically mean he has what it takes to be a head coach as shown by being fired at that job 3 times. Other coaches leave him in the dust when they make late game adjustments he seems unable to counter. He also fails to adjust strategy in any given night when part of his team's game is not clicking. And I still cannot fathom why he is leaving Jaxson Hayes on the bench as often as he is. A good coach would at least be in the top 8 with the talent we have. Pops would have this team at 5 or maybe 4.
