Exactly- they did, but then they got them back.

That team was ranked, was around 10 when the chicken pox hit (and Nikita Wilson was an academic casualty). Season went into freefall, and BARELY had the record to get into the NCAA.

But by the time that started, the team was mostly back to when it was ranked. So while you had a poor overall record, you have to remember there was a stretch of about 6-8 games where you had walkon football players starting, instead of the guys who opened the season- and played in March.
