People seem to want to defend Boy Scouts, but absolutely vilify the Catholic Church for the same good and bad. Seems like a double standard. And female teachers and Protestant clergy get a pass.

I ask this question not knowing the answer.
Did the Scouts cover for the pedos once caught? Because the Catholic Church did that.

Both the Boy Scouts and Catholic Church allowed some rotten things to happen. As did other organizations.
Both are paying the price.
Both have strong new practices to try to prevent this in the future.
Neither deserve a death sentence.
I guess you could argue that maybe a priest has a higher moral authority than a scout leader, so perhaps that's why people are more upset at the church.
