The downtown Lafayette space offers The Grouse Room capacity for over 800 patrons. With this larger capacity, the venue will be able to produce shows featuring larger, national acts and concerts. The larger space also features an upstairs VIP Room overlooking the stage and dance floor. An outdoor space directly adjacent to the Parc International entrance, will be designed with a welcoming “courtyard” ambiance, perfect for an outdoor drink, bite to eat, and outdoor music.

Hmm, wonder what’s going to be in the current location.

Feel like this is a pretty big risk they are taking. Downtown is really coming up but I feel like their main clientele are not going to want to go downtown for the night.

I was thinking the same thing. You're leaving River Ranch money and now taking on the Friday night freak show with no parking. I wonder how the rent compares. According to their vision, I hope the live music pans out.

How is the downtown scene compared with early to mid 2000’s? I remember when Jefferson Street pub opened in 2002 the downtown scene was up and coming.

There are some decent restaurant options downtown now, I feel like it’s trending to more of a restaurant scene, than a bar scene (which is what it was in the mid 2000’s).

No doubt. Feel like there's a new restaurant popping up down there every few months.

Yea, that's gonna be a big NO for me. I rarely go downtown after sunset now. If I am downtown after dark it's to eat at one of the restaurants and then leave the downtown area after dinner. Pretty risky decision, but I do hope it works out for them. The Grouse Room has been a pretty great venue for the middle age population that loves good live music and a good drink.

Interesting move.. The owner, Matt, told me the Bulldog was also vying to get the space before he secured it and built it out for the Grouse Room.
I personally would prefer the RR area and wouldn't want the hassle of the downtown crowd, but the Ballroom space is beautiful.. worked there several years while in college when it was Michael's.. before Eddie wiped Michael out.
I'll definitely check out the Grouse Room downtown, though. Will be fun for Festival Internationale.
