Agree with the rest, but I don't think judges look too kindly on that.
This really isn't that hard to do. ATM visits regularly while putting it away into an undisclosed safe and no one is the wiser. Just don't go and pull it all out at once.

Or be smart and don't have any joint checking accounts.

If there’s one thing I learned from the movie Marriage Story, it’s that you also need to consult with every divorce attorney in town. That way she’ll be hard pressed to find someone that can represent her.
Tony Soprano did it first.

If you are a business traveler and fly often, I will give you an example a buddy of mine used to perfection.
He pretty much was onto his live-in girlfriend's cheating. He was on a road trip and he happened to be somewhere where the weather was bad, so he used it to his advantage.
His flight was actually on time, but he called her right before he took off and told her that his flight was cancelled and he wouldn't be home til the next day.
She was apparently too horny to check the flight status on the internet and took the bait. He arrived home as scheduled, heard an "oh shite" when he opened his front door, and walked in on them mid-thrust....
He was cool about it, told the guy that he didn't blame him, and politely asked him to get dressed and go home. He then told her she had 2 months to find a place to go (they were sharing an apartment) because she also had to GTFO.
I admire how he handled it. I am not sure I could have been so cool.

How does one do this without the wife knowing?
Gradually. It's easier if it's not all in both names, which most OT ballers wouldn't need their wife's name on a damn thing, amirite?

Never gone through a divorce but just how dumb does one have to believe the court system and lawyers are to not have you explain why you liquidated everything you own over the course of a year or two prior to divorce? Surely if the wife can prove you tried to hide assets and can prove the amount hidden, those will be considered assets, right?
You admit you've never been to family/divorce court. Allow me to educate you:
They're ALL morons. They can't know anything a lawyer doesn't tell them first.
If you gradually liquidated & simply claimed you spent the cash on dinners, drinks, sporting events, etc. They can't prove you didn't.
It's not about what anyone SAYS in court. It's what they can PROVE.

Good voice activated recorder with a better external mike. Hide it under her car seat with the mike out of sight. Test it. If there is a Jody she will call him on the way home from work every day. shite, if she's like mine she will be talking to him with the kids in the car. If you want to hear juicy put it in the bedroom and take the kids to Grandma's house.
An old smartphone laying around the house will do this perfectly. They have free apps with voice activation and will work fine under a car seat or in a magazine pocket.
Trust me.

Y’all act like a woman’s divorce lawyer can’t ask for bank statements or put your arse under oath about what you did with the property.
Because NO ONE has lied under oath & gotten away with it before in the history of the US Court system....
Cash is the real caveat here.
Do it gradually.
As others have said, cover your tracks with alleged gambling, boozing, & other cash spending "activties".
It's not on them to prove you didn't do those things & blow the cash. It's on them to prove you still have the cash. When they can't = you win.
It's not rocket surgery, fellas.

Jesus, I hope I'd have the balls to leave her before I resort to that crap.

If she uses a computer at home, install a keystroke logging app and just make sure you hide the shortcut icons and keep it from showing on the start menu

So I get what a Jody is but why? Why Jody, is there an origin to this? Is this just a south LA thing?

It's a military thing. It has been extended to the oilfield, and, through the OT Lounge, to all of Bawdom.

This dude gets it. OP, LONG GAME here. Start moving assets slowly. If you have kids, set up trusts, be smart, don’t get screwed anymore than you need to. Good luck!
Cash cannot be traced. You can always say you spent it all.
