If you closed your eyes and I told you that one day there would be a player that would go on to score more points than Mike on less shots, while shooting a higher percentage from the field, eventhough he took over 4k more 3 pt shots. Most would say that guy has to be the best scorer ever.
What if I then told you that guy is going to pass Magic Johnson in All-time assist? You would say that guy has to have been the best offensive player of All-time.
What if I told that his highlight tape is filled with breath taking dunks, amazing passes, and game changing blocks?
Old people kill me. Jordan was better than his peers by a greater margin than Lebron is versus his peers.
That doesn't make him better than Lebron.
Go look at names on the all-star teams in the 90s. It was a game of big men. The guards and small forwards don't compare to this era in anyway. Not in skill or athleticism.
The best wing player outside of MJ in the 90s was Pippen. Jordan's battles with Reggie Miller don't seem as impressive when you realize Reggie is a lesser version of Klay Thompson.
The rough tough Knicks teams had zero shooting.
The might Utah Jazz scored 54 pts in a playoff game. The game is on YouTube we can easily compare eras and see the talent difference.

Lmfao, I love it when someone who didn’t witness a thing tells me how much of an expert he is on that thing. You’re so far off on your opinions of that era it’s staggering. It’s like you’ve only dissected the Bulls because of the Jordan/LeBron argument so you land on Pippen as the second best player. Simply ignorant.

Lebron made nine finals in a weak eastern conference and who lost 6 of those (and his finals record, sans a miracle shot by Ray Allen, should be 2-7, and minus a miracle vs the 73-9 warriors who were not at full strength, and he would be 1-8). He is frustrating to me because in spite of his physical gifts, he lacks the consistent killer instinct MJ had. He is like a seven year old who wants so badly to be liked, but he’s a blithering idiot when it comes to public relations - see the graffiti and the safety pin, for starters, not to mention the China stance. And on top of that, he whines like nobody else.
I’ll be glad when he is retired.
And to those comparing eras, it’s simply not possible. But, put MJ in today’s game, with the updated training technology and diet improvements, and he’d put Lebron in his place more than Kawhi has. This era’s players would not know how to handle him because none of them have the inner drive that MJ had. I don’t think MJ’s Bulls ever lost three games in a row.
