Honestly, I thought it was a little weak, but still pretty good. I’ve seen him do it better with Captain Green.

I’ll keep updating with breakdowns of performances.

Olivia is clearly talented, but there seems to be something missing.

Franklin is so smooth, but this wasn’t his best performance. I thought it was a cool song choice, but wasn’t perfect for his voice.

Louie’s performance was awesome. So much emotion, though a little lacking in power. Very moving

Makayla is perfect and can do no wrong. She’s going to be famous whether she wins this or not, and she’s going to make the top 5.

Jester with a very solid Whitney performance. Couple mild pitchy spots, but overall excellent,

Faith with easily her best performance of the competition. Excellent song choice. Finally avoided rushing and bouncing and let the notes speak for themselves.

Nick makes a great song choice. Plenty of emotion and feeling, but felt a little safe.

Lauren - holy schnikes! That was the best performance I’ve seen this season!!

Cyniah - solid, but felt a little safe, maybe because she is so good

Francisco - eh. He’s got a smooth voice, but not enough dynamics. Granted, that’s not an easy song.

Sophia - such a weird voice, but an excellent performance with those runs and that big high note near the end. Not top 5, but I think she’ll top 10 with that performance....but she should have stuck with Wackerman.

Dewayne - great run there at the end, but he really flopped on those high notes. He’s close but not quite. Not sure if that was the best song choice for him.

Dillon - super polished and a heartfelt performance. Not sure if it stands out against some of these other contestants. He’s got a bright future outside of this competition.

Arthur - super fun song choice, and he absolutely owned it. Easily top 5 material

Julia - solid but struggles to stand out. She has a unique husky voice, but she just doesn’t have the power of some of these other contestants. Her and her cowboy boyfriend will star in a hallmark Christmas movie.

Grace - not the best song choice for her, as it seemed to be a little higher than her voice’s natural sweet spot. Very solid performance despite that. She has some serious pipes.

Just Sam - she’s got the it factor in her voice. Song choice felt a little safe, but was tailored to her sweet spot. Almost seemed like she had a higher quality mic than the other performers.

Johnny - pure magic. Such a gentle voice who nails every run. Perfect use of dynamics. Top 5 material.

Franklin is so overrated imo. Been watching Idol since day 1, and I just don’t get the Franklin love. Jovin is in my top 5,along with Arthur (winner), Francisco, Makayla, and Dillon. I like Olivia as well.

I have never been a big fan of this guy....

It's so often whiny....

and he stands out bc he's british... but I don't necessarily know if he's really that great at all if he was on the British AI/ equivalent

Thanks for the breakdown bob

Man, I have to say I’m really bummed about this. This was one of the most talented groups ever and they just aren’t getting a fair shake at this.

It’s pretty strange watching these contestants in their living rooms. They deserve the full experience with the band, in front of the crowd, with all the great visuals the theater can provide.

I really don’t see why they couldn’t just have the 20 quarantined in LA and shoot it there. Even without an audience at least you’d have the band and stage and the sound would be the same for all of them. Some of these sound like they’re singing through a potato gun.

If it couldn’t be pulled off they should have just postponed it.

That said, the top few still stood out. Big performance by Jovin

Really wish all these talented performers would have gotten the full Idol treatment
