I asked a few questions in the PC thread that got answered. But I didnt want this question to get lost on page 1653 of that thread.

Is anyone familiar with the NZXT Starter Plus pre-built PC?

I don’t but skytech on Newegg is good from a couple of my friends getting them. They have really good value when I last looked at them.

Never heard of it, guessing pre built PCs, barebones or all components to be assembled.

What is the point of this thread? What are you asking?

Components are components. Are you asking if you can trust the assemblers or that the mark ups aren't too high?

Edt: The only issue I usually have with these types of systems are in areas they cut cost. That will always be with the PSU and MOBO. So in 2-3yrs you could began getting weird errors you can't quite troubleshoot.

The starter plus is a pre-built PC. Was just curious anyone had experience with it or if it was all crap components.

I've seen a lot of people recommending to build one because it will save money.. but in my case, I have no clue if individual components will 1) work with other components I buy, and 2) which brands are good and which ones are crap...

The perk of the NZXT is I can pick a few games on their website and it calculates the fps per game at 1080.

I had a friend who had one built from nzxt and he hasn't had any problems with it. I think he got the highest end one you can get from them. It's really well built and looks really good.

With pcpartpicker and a YouTube video you can build one yourself. If your interested in building one I'd recommend going for it just for the experience.

I've built 3 or 4 without any issues, I was always pretty stressed something wasn't going to work or I hadn't set up something to get full use of my parts. At this point I'd probably buy instead of building again. Nzxt doesn't charge that much of a premium to build it would be worth the piece of mind.

Just buy the parts and build the computer. Its incredibly easy and kind of fun. With the money you'll save you can probably get a better motherboard or storage etc.

Specs aren't bad for the price and it's a great 1080p (and maybe even 1440p) setup. Building it yourself would be roughly $850 and that doesn't include the cost of Windows 10 Home.

I'd definitely replace the power supply though.

Components look good. The PSU concerns me though.

There are a ton of YouTube videos so people who do builds from varying price ranges. I would start there and then when making final decisions, go to pcpartpicker. It will help you avoid compatibility issues.

Building really isn’t hard, especially now. It’s basically adult legos.

Thanks for all of the responses. I've been watching a bunch of YT videos and I think I'm going to try to build one myself. I'll keep you guys updated

Looked it up online:

Case: NZXT H500
CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 2600 6-Core 3.4GHz
CPU Cooler: AMD Wraith Stealth Cooler
GPU: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1660 - MSI GAMING X
PSU: Seasonic S12II 500W Bronze
Motherboard: MSI B450 TOMAHAWK
Ram: Team T-FORCE Delta RGB 16GB (2 x 8GB) 3000MHz
SSD: Western Digital Blue M.2 500GB
Software: Windows 10 Home
Warranty: 2-year warranty on all parts & labor

Price: $899

That's not bad, honestly. You could probably build one for the same amount that's a bit better (the CPU is a bit slow for a gaming PC, for example), but it also depends on what you're trying to do overall. Are you trying to get ready for games like Cyberpunk 2077? This might be a bit underpowered. Playing current games like Overwatch, etc? It should be fine.

Building isn't hard but getting dead on arrival parts is far more difficult to deal with than buying a prebuilt.

If you have plenty of spare parts it is easy enough to figure out what isn't working but the average user doesn't have spare parts. Also warranties can be a mess with build your own. I had a motherboard that was bad and Gigabyte said it could be up to a month or two to get the motherboard back. Total nightmare.

I build my own but folks on here act like it is a piece of cake with no consequences but there can be serious pain in the arse situations that arise from BYO.

And on topic, these systems are pretty damn close to the actual price.

I’ve been part of the Master Race for over 20 years and pirating Windows is still too complicated for me.

Pretty bad. My buddy got a 2700 with a RTX 2060 Super not too long ago same price.

I finally broke down and bought a grey market windows 10 pro key for $15 a few months ago because the activate watermark is impossible to get rid of long-term these days.

Look at NZXT BLD and see if you like anything better for the price. If not, go for it.

I thought you could only use it for 30 days before activating.
I had a roommate in the military who always let me use his pirated Windows XP SP3 Pro back in like 06/07.
