Look, the best way I can explain Candace Owens detractors is the following:
The problem is not that Owens has right-wing viewpoints. There are plenty of other black figureheads who have conservative stances on politics and just lack the media attention necessary to build a larger platform.
The problem is the rhetoric and delivery of those viewpoints.
Two definitions of rhetoric
***the art of effective or persuasive speaking or writing, especially the use of figures of speech and other compositional techniques.
***language designed to have a persuasive or impressive effect on its audience, but often regarded as lacking in sincerity or meaningful content.
She relies on propaganda talking points such as "blacks are brain-washed" or "democratic plantation" that a certain segment of this board likes because it matches their world view. The irony is that those exact same terms could be used for rural white voters in areas that have been GOP for decades but not seen any significant economic growth.
This is inherently ignorant, not just on Owens but any conservative commentator. People have multiple reasons they vote Democratic and many of them based on the same personal motivations, fears, and groupthink that Republicans do. Nobody is coerced to vote for either party. There is no "plantation". Conservatives are just angry because people don't want to live the same way they do or have different priorities in life.
The only thing this type of language does is prevent Blacks or any targeted group from joining the GOP. You adore people like Owens because "I don't want to acknowledge there may be underlying biases to a problem, so I will just ignore the problem"

I find this thread funny because I really can't know if she really has converted to conservatism or not and neither can her detractors
But what I DO know is that the attacks on her are completely predictable.
Every black who has EVER become well known for espousing conservative views creates a five alarm fire for the left's plantation owners.
That the people in this thread think this isn't completely transparent is just comical

Whoa. Thanks man. Your cutting edge analysis has saved the day for us knuckle draggers. We thought blacks were still being held prisoners and picking cotton. Whew that is a relief got to tell ya.

Except whites don't vote 90-95% one way or another.
False equivalence.
