I wonder if this situation is like the old movie "Heaven Can Wait", where a rich guy buys an NFL team so he can play quarterback.
He can sit in with some pros, patting unmic'd congas and strumming rhythm guitar, and he looks real cool. All he has to do is bankroll the whole deal.

I've got a variety of acoustic and electric guitars and other stringed instruments, and I've never paid more than $700 for any of them. The most "high end" instrument I ever bought was a $400 Riptide ukulele.
