While driving, no pipeline, power line, right away, or open field can be passed by without a quick glance to see if something is out there...

And if there is anyone in vehicle with you when you see one, you have to say “deer”. Never fails

I brought that up to my dad one day as we were driving. No one yells cow or squirrel, only deer.

If I see acorns I can't help but look around for droppings or a tree to hang a stand in. Even if I'm in a park.

If at home or office and temps are below 40°, “He’s probably standing in front of my tree right now.”

there is a small pipeline that basically runs through the parking lot at my office and parallels a 4 lane road. The little wood lot it cuts through is roughly 8 acres with offices and houses on the other 3 sides.
Every single time I walk to or from my truck I glance down the ROW looking for a critter. every single time

can't walk down a fence line without looking for hair...

Scan the back of every field with a woodline, no matter what time of day. Keep binoculars on the dash in case I see one.

Just like a set of rr tracks. I look every time.

First thing I do when I hunt a new property is ask where the creeks are

Sundays you always are looking at the back of trucks coming from the camp looking for something sticking up above the side of the bed. Feet, horns...what ever.

And you dont say it once either...”look at the deer look at the deer!”

sometimes I just say "horns" and point to the pipeline we just passed.
my wife is like "what?!?"
"horns...back there," I say again.
"...oh, on deer?"
"yeah...deer...back there"
"that was like half a mile ago, how fast are you driving?!?!"

I saw a hog by the diversion canal one time 12 years ago. My poor wife has heard that story about 15 times.
