He is relentless around the bucket like Emmitt and plays "long" like Emmitt. His offensive game is probably more like Marlon's...pretty good mid-range guy with the ability to step out and knock down a 3 occasionally. He will be a 3rd or 4th option on O initially, but has a chance to be better than that. He will score primarily on put-backs and dribble penetration dishes down low. Great get!

If our underclassmen that really need to stay another year do stay, this will be a team that's as deep and talented as any we've had. We need Anselem to get in. Hopefully Cooper puts on some weight and can give us good minutes as a rim protector/rebounder.

Marlon isn’t a bad comparison. You’re the one who said he looked closer to Trendon Watford, so...

And not even close? Same height, incredibly similar builds, elite athletes, etc. yeah, okay. They’re nothing alike. Gotcha.

I’ll stick to that. He’s going to be more of an inside outside guy like Watford then exclusively play on the wing like Marlon, and he certainly won’t be used like Emmitt. I do think he will guard multiple positions.

And oh yeah, because they’re the same size and are elite athletes they’re the same player. That’s incredibly simplistic.

You’re the one who said they have similar skill sets which is laughably off base. Their skill set isn’t comparable in any way (which is what I said, yet you keep coming back to body and athleticism like that matters).

247's Evaluation:
quote:

Hybrid forward with decent size, long arms and plus athleticism. One of top defenders in 2020 class. Elite versatility on defense; can guard most two through fours at minimum at next level. Improving skill on offense. Has made strides with midrange jumper. Rebounds on both ends of court. Nonstop improvement from beginning of junior season on. If offense continues to evolve his defensive ability will help him find niche in NBA.

Sounds awesome.

Having one of those long, ultra-athletic, big time defenders on your team is invaluable.

Those are the guys that go to the NBA and have 15 year careers. Watching their offensive game develop is always fun to watch too - like a Jimmy Butler, Paul George, or Kawhi Leonard. Not to say Wilkinson is them.

If the rumors of Leblancs defense are true adding him and Wilkinson to the mix could help our defense take a big step forward next year

If we get Anselem cooper will get the boot. He’s a RS Soph and he hasn’t sniffed the court. It’s not really a weight thing at this point

Maybe so and what i'm about to write is based only a very limited sample size. I think Cooper could contribute in the next couple seasons more than Ezwiro (sp) could. Cooper is fairly fluid for a guy his height. I think Ezwiro is a shorter version of ERIII. We shall see.

Comparing Ezewiro to ERIII is not a good comparison IMO. ERIII could not make it here under Wade and likely would not have been recruited by Wade.

Ezewiro was recruited and signed by Wade, of course. Wade has compared him to the outstanding PF at VCU, Santos-Silva. Although, I believe that Ezewiro will need work on his body and his game, he should be a good player by the time he leaves LSU.

I think Ezwiro is a Bigger version of Days. He seems to have and outside shot. He is a bulky space eater, and could set some mean screens for athletes like Thomas and Wilkinson.

Yeah and he is and he has some weight. He won't be pushed around.
This team is going to be much different and more complete soon.
We will have an inside game and guys like Bishop, Cook, and Thomas who can hit threes as well as drive and dish.

Great pick up by Wade.

Looking at the 247 rankings we are number 9 now. Does transfer Josh LeBlanc count in points for LSU?
