I really want to believe elected officials do understand this and are just yammering about something they know will get them attention but has no chance of actually passing. But unfortunately, its also very likely they're just fricking idiots.

It's not difficult to pull the pay stub of a coach in a state school, but that would require one to actually seek the truth.

This is the mistake I probably make. I assume these elected officials know what they are talking about when they make statements or want to take action against something.
