Exactly, a salary at a public school can be $350k.

Who is to say a private group like the TAF cannot give to a corch?

It is at some schools. Not all athletic departments are self-sufficient like LSU and other P5 programs. Many operate in the red and spend public money.

This is what's kind of infuriating about it. Athletics bring in millions and millions to the schools and the high salaries are paid through other means -- not tuition and not through fees or public funding. Yet, the millions raked in by the sports aren't going just to the athletics departments, in most cases.

You have to imagine the schools don't want this.

I get that the optics might be bad for schools to furlough professors and instructors during budget strains while the football coach makes 5 million -- but their salaries come from completely different places.
