When you talk to people who have kids from now on about how hard having kids is, they’ll immediately tell you “oh, well you just wait until they get old enough to walk.” Then once they start walking it will be “oh well you just wait until they get in their teens.” Then when they’re in their teens it will be “just wait until they’re in college and they’re sucking you dry of money.”

I don’t have kids but I hear people do this shite all the time to others.

Because them’s the facts when you have kids. 100% of new parents think “we won’t be like those other parents that tell us it’s hard, etc.” Then the first year they cruise through thinking “man, this isn’t so bad. Those people don’t know wtf they’re talking about.” Then sometime over the year or so the kid starts walking and having it’s own thoughts and ideas. They were able to take the baby out in its carrier and sit for a meal with friends, take it shopping, etc. They go to a restaurant one day and now that kid won’t sit still. Won’t stop throwing things. Won’t eat. Won’t stop screaming. The toddler stage has broken many a new parents. It’s undefeated actually.

After they turn 3 or 4 it gets infinitely easier but a whole new set of problems set in. You’re then tasked with molding a little human to not become a giant piece of shite in society. Many people suck at it. Way too many unfortunately.
