quote:No disrespect to Pocic AT ALL, but I dont know if Id put him tier 1. Id put him at the top of tier 2 though. Not really something Id argue too hard. He was great.
Pocic.
Mawae was a good one.(Somebody above asked about his position. He moved around the Oline his entire 4-year career at LSU, but stayed at center his senior year).

Dude
Do you Kevin Mawae or Todd McClure?!?!?!

Joe was a stellar college player but not NFL grade.

Kevin bounced between OT and center. Was never a guard.
His most impressive accolade was 1st Team All SEC as a sophomore tackle.....weighing 255 pounds. He stonewalled Eric Curry of Bama that year.

The only thing my Gator friends remember about that game is being unable to stop Hester! He was awesome!

Cushenberry is also responsible for making checks at the line for the whole OL. He's our best Center since Wilkerson

Hester is proof that being part of a championship team will really add to your legacy. If we don't win the championship that year no one would be talking about him ever.
Hester is a legend after what he did to 07 Florida

A great center is huge on the offensive line.
What is the gambling stat ? 80 or 90 percent of teams in the NFL who lose a center to injury then lose next weeks game ? It’s something ridiculous like that.

One of my favorites. No nonsense, not much talk. Just smash.

You really don’t have to possess a keen eye for OL play or know blocking schemes to appreciate what Cushenberry did for us this year.
When you can take the Center and the QB positions, and almost always have them making the right reads and executing, it’s difficult not to have success.

And folks using Lloyd Cushenberry the III’s name always sounded like they were referring to a free and accepted member of the Royal Academy of Surgeons.

Good for him. Turned out to be a hell of a late offer on national signing day
Well he was committed to Spurrier for a year and then Spurrier retired. It wasn’t like he was a nobody they took a flier on at the last minute.

I think the championship year and UF game are what really solidify his legacy IMO
Without a doubt, that Florida game was something to behold. hester carried the team on his back as he PLOWED through UF's defenders on his way to scoring the winning TD. One of the best performances ever witnessed in an LSU game!

Go take a look at LSU vs bama 07'. Flynn throws a pick. Hester was on the turf after a block and hops up and chases the dude down from clear across the field. He then proceeds to be called for an unsportsmanlike penalty after the entire bama bench ends up giving him the business as he caromed into the bench area after making the play. Hester was certainly white, but that didn't mean he was slow. Jacob Hester was a football player. And a damn strong one at that.

Hester was fast enough to have an 85 yard TD Run

That Cushenberry passed up original #1 Center prospect Tyler Badazz (Wisconsin) is really impressive!
