Ok? What does this have to do with CrowdStrike or the other cybersecurity firms that analyzed the data?
Nothing... I dont give a shite about crowdstrike... but if Seth Rich indeed leaked info from the DNC (and this is SEPARATE from the Podesta "hack"), then Crowdstrike's info about Russia hacking is bullshite. Or if Russia hacked anything, which they may well have, they could well have kept it for themselves as blackmail material.
Russia "hacking" the DNC and Seth Rich being the source of the wikileaks emails is not necessarily mutually exclusive... but regardless, no one is going to convince me Seth Rich DID NOT have a hand in getting emails to wikileaks and that he wasn't killed for precisely that reason.
That's all.

This is utter horseshite. Even assuming your unsourced article was correct that it was megabytes per second and not megabits, 50 megabytes is roughly 400 megabits, less than half the speed of a gigabit connection. Which exist all over the world, and have for quite some time.
Was he on a gigabit connection? Do you know this?
It takes about 5 seconds to download 70 MB on my laptop. Uploading is slower. I'm in town with a good connection through Spectrum Business.

This was the claim:
quote:
Binney says the highest transfer rate was 49.1 megabytes per second, which is much faster than possible from a remote online connection.
This is utter bullshite. Period.

That's 112 megabits per second. A gigabit line is 1000 megabits per second.
Get better internet. Especially for a business class connection.

Great. And I'm not saying the Seth Rich shite didn't happen.
However this thread was specifically about CrowdStrike, and some whacko conspiracy theory that they were behind covering up everything the DNC did.

your math is all wrong. there's 8 bytes in a bit.

Yeah... still possible. Look, I get where you're coming from... in fact, despite your belief, one of the (many) reasons I'm not a 9/11 truther is because so many people would have to be involved, it would have been impossible to keep secret.
However... how many people actually did the forensics on the DNC server? I dont care if crowdstrike has a million employees... if it's five guys in a basement doing work, that isn't some massive conspiracy at work.
And I still dont know about all those other companies and the Dutch intelligence agencies or whatever... from what I remember about the untedacted "IC report" on "Russian hacking," all of their info as far as the DNC server was concerned came from Crowdstrike.

I don't think people these days can appreciate the true value of a DS0.

Four of the largest cybersecurity firms did.

CS did the initial investigation. The other firms were came after for the very reason of validating CS's reports.
Attribution is a big deal in the cybersecurity world. When you say country X did something, your arse is going to be scrutinized. Hard. And CS was.

Did FBI or NSA etc analyze the server?
Posted on 1/23/20 at 10:12 pm to Centinel
Everyone is forgetting about Wikileaks releasing the Vault 7 and Year Zero revelations, shortly after Crowdstrike conducted their “investigation” of the servers.
Exactly.
And then the FBI used the report, among other things(Steele dossier), without question to spy and start an illegal investigation that lasted over 3 years that resulted in nothing but a political hit job and innuendo filled smear campaign.
Scrutinized Hard? Who cares when you are backed by factions of our CIA.

July 5, 2016: In the early evening, Eastern Daylight Time, someone working in the EDT time zone with a computer directly connected to the DNC server or DNC Local Area Network, copied 1,976 MegaBytes of data in 87 seconds onto an external storage device. That speed is much faster than what is physically possible with a hack.

The CIA backs the four largest cybersecurity companies in the world?
And not one word about this backing has leaked from any of these multi-billion dollar corporations, ever?
The Dutch intelligence agency was on the APT's fricking computers. They saw the evidence directly. Unless you're claiming the CIA runs Russian APTs in Russia with the blessing of the Russian government.

No, it's not. I've already addressed that post.
Correlation != causation.

For those curious of the implications of yesterday's info:
Posted on 1/24/20 at 11:48 am to VoxDawg
Yes. Of course. They used CrowdStrike's political execution service.
Definitely more cost effective than their competition.

I think you need to re-read my post. No, I was specifically referring to Crowdstrike.
