The baseball version of Les Miles...living off what he did a decade ago.

Les Miles syndrome.

So we are just going to ignore that 7 of the top 12 are SEC teams?
Where was football ranked to begin the season?

Yep. He is Les Miles in a baseball uniform. Time to move on and reinvigorate the baseball program.

I don't know much, but I believe the following are true:
1) 11.7 limits a team from being able to truly recruit. LSU could capitalize on full scholarships better than most. Hell, you need 16 to just get the starters (9 position, 4 starters, 2 setup, and 1 closer).
2) LSU used to use TOPS to have 50+ players on roster. They changed the rules to stop this practice (25/35).
3) Apparently private schools can blow past 11.7. I don't understand this, but national reporters have been saying this about TCU and Vandy for several years.
I have seen LSU working hard and successfully on recruiting.
I have seen arm injuries wreck a season (last year).
I remember Skip beating teams, UCLA comes to mind, with a bunch of pros by putting some 5th year walk-on in the game who then makes the all region team. This guy would not even be on a current team due to changes in the rules.
The competition now is orders of magnitude greater than what Skip faced. Skip faced much higher competition than Dedeaux from SC who has the most championships. I think getting 20 or so scholly would help, but the days of just dominating everyone are over.
