I can understand this to a degree because you both are so exhausted from taking care of the kids at the end of the day that you just have no energy. But it should never completely stop or be just a few times a month. If it gets to that point, it's an issue

It shouldn't, but the reality is that is does for many couples. And often times it just happens without either partner really realizing it. You wake up one day and realize it's been two months since you were last intimate. The wife and I went through it after our second kid. It's not always a sign of a failing marriage, but it can lead to problems if resentment is built up and never addressed.

When you have children, you find a way to make it work even when it doesn't meet what you expected or imagined.
